COSMIC HOUSE: Point of Return

Cosmic House is a collaborative installation that brings focus to the global environment and socio-political viewpoints from the threshold of home”. Using the analogy of ‘house’ as a setting for the investigation of their observations about our larger home, the earth, Tchir and Hill have constructed portals and rooms that represent the ideas of persuasion, consumption and renewal. Constructed in a manner that invites the viewer to enter, move through and observe the three distinct environments, the installation is a site for silent and reflective thought about the state of our earth.

The opening reception for this exhibition will be held on Friday, September 17th at 7pm. There is no admission charge and the artists will be in attendance. On Saturday September 18th at 1pm, an artist talk will be presented in conjuction with this exhibition. Through discussion, images and a 'walk-about' through the installation, Cosmic House - Point of Return, artists Maggie Tchir and Kathleen Hill will discuss their collaborative creative process. They will address how the subject matter of their installation has affected both their own personal and professional lives and daily practices.

The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday 10-5pm and Sunday 12-4pm.
